Truffle Boots

I have been a bit of a terrible blogger recently, unfortunately my laptop has decided to be a bit crazy and do things like not switch on, make strange noises and constantly write in caps lock. Sad times. Anyway winter is coming and it’s time to throw on lots of layers, find your favourite boots and crunch threw the leaves. Who said winter had to be full of dark colours and unexciting clothes…

I have three loves for this winters fashion: anything wine coloured, truffle boots and midi bodycon dresses. I was very lucky to be sent these amazing boots by Barratts. They look great with any outfit and are suprisingly easy to walk in. I’ve been wanting a pair of these boots for months but couldn’t decide on which type, so in the end I chose these truffle boots with a wooden block heel. I’m also wearing a jacket and scarf from H&M, a dress from Topshop and a Marc Jacobs watch (from my lovely boyfriend).

Denim shorts and Wooly Jumpers

This picture was taken back in September when it was a lot warmer. Looking at this now makes me shiver a little but thought I should share this outfit. I think no matter how many pairs of shorts you buy, you will always have that one staple pair you find comfy and will match everything.  Below I am wearing my favourite pair of denim shorts from another Spanish shop called Lefties. My bag and hairband are also from Spanish shops… yes I do like Spain. Anyway, now that it is coming into winter I am all about the wooly jumpers, featured here is a jumper from Primark from last years winter collection. Hoping that they have stocked up again on ribbon jumpers like this. H&M currently has a great rage of wooly jumpers, reasonably priced as always and a pair of leather shorts I have my eye on ( oh as well as the whole Lana Del Ray collection).

Summer to Autumn Trends

I have been a bit of a terrible blogger recently. I’ve started a dress making course and have been training for a 10k obstacle race which I completed on Sunday. yay! Anyway, back to fashion, I took these photos a while back when it was acceptable to have bare legs without dying of a chill. I love this denim jacket which I got in the sale from New Look, bit of a bargain and seems to go with everything. When I was back in Spain I picked up this black studded bag from Stradivarius, one of my favourite Spanish stores. Sadly they currently don’t deliver to the UK so be sure to drop in the next time you pop by Spain! Or take a look at their look book for uptodate trends for the fall.

Hair Styling – Do the twist!

I thought I would do a different feature instead of my usual fashion. I wanted to learn how to do the loose braids which were all over the catwalk last season. It’s sometimes hard to find new ways to do exciting things with your hair, unless  your going to do something drastic like dye it pink. If you are anything like me, generally throughout the day you will throw your hair up. I found a you tube video on how to do this and thought I would give it a go. Really easy, just involves separating two strands of hair and continuously joining other parts of your hair as you work your way round your head, add some pins and dah! dah! finished!

Summer Dresses

I haven’t gotten round to doing a post for a long time as I’ve been looking at changing the template and layout of my blog. (yes and i’m still taking my time deciding what to do) With so much going on with the buzz from the fashion weeks, the IFB conference and designer collaborations, I’m not really sure where to even begin. I wanted to add a post about my fantastic trip to spain with some friends; I didn’t visit my old hometown of Granada but I did manage to fit in a number of trips to some of the pueblos, Gibraltar and Seville. The weather was fantastic, allowing us to dust off our summer clothes and show some skin. Here are some of my favourite dresses from the holiday. what was your favourite item from this summer?

Behind the scenes at Spencer Clothing

As promised (a little late) I wanted to show you some behind the scene pictures from the photo shoot of Spencer Clothing. It was a great experience getting to meet the models, stylist and creative director; I think it gives you a better sense for the brand and where it’s going. Of Course, I cannot forget to tell you that one of my favourite pieces from the collection was named after me. Please take a look at the Bell Gown and find more information and images here.

Pink suede skirt – H&M

Leggings day- the weather is so temperamental at the moment, it’s tough deciding whether to put leggings on, bring them with you, or bare the rain and cold. hmmm.. decisions. Anyway as I am trying to hang onto summer as much as possible, I paired my black and grey with a vibrant suede skirt from H&M. The skirt is simple with the only detailing being the gold zips but nevertheless a chic piece to brighten up a dull day.

Spencer Clothing SS13 Collection

Last week I was kindly invited to the photo shoot for Spencer Clothing‘s SS13 collection, a scottish label, tartan and all, developed by Creative Director- Colin Gilchrist. From the moment I saw the collection I fell in love, the collection is high end with a focus on crisp tailoring, quality fabrics and women who like to work hard and party hard. The inspiration for the collection came from the abundance of superheroes and sport stars surrounding us. With a number of super hero movies released this year alongside the olympics, what better way to collaborate the two than in an empowering and sophisticated collection.

“The fabric choices came from a selection of your favourite chocolates mixed with specifically designed jacquards and a black Macmillan tartan. The 3 sides to the collection include dramatic evening wear, tailoring and summer dresses and blouses.” Colin Gilchrist.

One of my favourite items from the collection is featured below, a tailored jacket with an almost ‘toile de jouy’ blue patterned collar and cuffs. This particular styling has hints of military with a whole lot of chic.

Basics – Jewellery and Shoes

This is quite a blasé outfit, but sometimes simple is better. I love oversized loose fitting t-shirts which you can pair with skinny jeans. Statement jewellery has been huge this summer, which is great for all us who love to be lazy, who just want to stick on a pair of jeans and a T. I found this blue mineral stone necklace in H&M and it just seems to make any outfit that little more interesting.  To add a little more colour to this basic outfit, I added my statement Kurt Geiger shoes. Don’t worry I wont carry on about them again, but I do love them! What is your favourite statement item?
